Thank you! Took me a while to find a way that threads all these stories together but happy that I was finally able to pull it off

Found this through Jamal's note, agreed. damn, such a great, sparky, three section essay. I am a huge fan of pieces full of links and footnotes for those who want to go deeper on the subject. I was already down the Succession archetypes rabbithole and now I will now watch Dune Part 2, you pushed me over the edge. great stuff, stoked for more.

Thanks for reading! Delighted to hear that you enjoyed this piece and are going through the additional material. Saw that you wrote about the Succession dinner scene as well and I really enjoyed your positive spin on it. If you're interested, there's this video on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=leYR3d-i5Vo) that fully unpacks the conversation between Logan and Kendall and why this episode was one of the best in the series. Happy travels!

“There’s things you’re able to do that I can’t…maybe” – Kendall Roy

I feel like all of us as sons and daughters know how much pain he must have had to push through to even string that sentence together.

Exactly! That was the feeling that I was trying to tap into because it’s a stark admission of your inadequacies and, for anyone with even modicum of ambition and drive, that’s a very hard thing to do. It’s scenes like this that makes Kendall relatable for me even though he’s a reprehensible person / character by all accounts lol
